This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected and handled when you visit AuthorPNThomas.com.

AuthorPNThomas.com is the official author website of P. N. Thomas. The site provides information about my books and writing, blog posts, and an optional email newsletter.

Information I Collect

You can browse AuthorPNThomas.com without giving me your name, mailing address, phone number, or other personal information.

If you choose to join my newsletter, I collect your:

Email address

I use your email address to send you newsletters and occasional information about my books, releases, writing, and related news.

I do not sell or rent your personal information.

My newsletter is managed through Kit, a third-party email service.

When you subscribe, your email address is submitted to and stored by Kit so that the newsletter can be delivered to you.

Kit may also process technical and engagement information connected with your subscription and the emails you receive. This can include information about email delivery, whether an email was opened, and whether a link in an email was clicked.

I may use this information to understand whether newsletters are being delivered successfully and which types of newsletter content readers find useful.

You may unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter email.

If you unsubscribe, your email address may remain on a suppression or unsubscribe list so that your request can be honored and you are not accidentally added back to the mailing list.

Kit processes subscriber information according to its own privacy and data-processing policies.

Replies and Email Correspondence

If you reply to one of my newsletter emails or otherwise send me an email, I will receive your email address and whatever information you voluntarily include in your message.

I use that information to read and respond to your message.

Correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate records, or resolve related issues.

Website Hosting

AuthorPNThomas.com is hosted using Cloudflare Pages.

When you visit the website, Cloudflare may automatically process limited technical information necessary to deliver, protect, and operate the site. This may include information such as:

Your IP address
Browser or device information
Requested pages or files
Date and time of requests
Network and security information
Information used to identify malicious or automated traffic

This information may be used for website delivery, performance, security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.

I do not maintain my own database identifying individual visitors based on their ordinary browsing activity.

Cloudflare handles information processed through its services according to its own privacy and data-retention policies.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

I do not use cookies on AuthorPNThomas.com for personalized advertising or behavioral advertising.

Third-party services used by the site, such as Cloudflare and Kit, may use cookies, tracking pixels, or similar technologies when providing their services.

For example, newsletter emails sent through Kit may contain a small tracking image used to determine whether an email has been opened, and links in newsletter emails may allow clicks to be recorded.

If I add services in the future that materially change how visitors are tracked or how personal information is collected, I will update this Privacy Policy.

Bookstore and External Links

AuthorPNThomas.com contains links to third-party websites, including bookstores where my books may be available.

When you follow one of these links, you leave AuthorPNThomas.com and visit a website operated by another company.

Any information you provide to a retailer, including your name, address, account information, or payment information, is collected and processed by that retailer rather than by AuthorPNThomas.com.

I do not receive or store your credit-card number or other payment credentials when you purchase one of my books from an outside retailer.

Third-party websites have their own privacy policies and practices, which I do not control.

Blog Comments and Mastodon

Discussion associated with some blog posts may take place through Mastodon rather than through a commenting system operated directly by AuthorPNThomas.com.

If you choose to participate through Mastodon, your interaction is handled through your Mastodon account and the Mastodon server where your account is hosted.

Public Mastodon posts, usernames, profile information, or replies may be visible to others or linked to from this website.

Mastodon servers are independently operated and may have their own privacy policies and data-handling practices. I do not control how another Mastodon server handles its users' information.

Embedded and Third-Party Content

Some pages or blog posts may contain or link to content provided by third parties, such as video, social-media content, bookstores, or other outside services.

When third-party content is loaded or when you choose to interact with it, the provider may receive technical information from your browser or device.

Any information collected by those services is handled according to their own privacy policies.

Data-protection laws may differ from one country to another. Third-party providers are responsible for handling international data transfers in accordance with their own policies and applicable legal requirements.

Children's Privacy

AuthorPNThomas.com is intended for an adult audience and is not directed to children under 13.

I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If I become aware that such information has been collected through the website, I will take reasonable steps to have it removed.

I may update this Privacy Policy when the website, newsletter, third-party services, or data practices change.
